Homemade Blue Cheese and Creamy Balsamic Salad Dressings

IMG_0237 copyI love to make my own salad dressings! They only take a few minutes to make, I usually have all (or most) of the ingredients I need right in my pantry, and they taste so good. These are two of my favorites…my family really loves the blue cheese. I hope you’ll give them a try!

Zesty Blue Cheese

1 cup mayonnaise

1/4 cup sour cream

1 Tbs. sugar

2 Tbs. apple cider vinegar

1/2 clove garlic, minced

1/2 tsp. salt

1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese

Beat all ingredients in a mixing bowl until fluffy. Enjoy!

Creamy Balsamic Vinaigrette

1 or 2 cloves of garlic, grated

3 Tbs. mayonnaise

2 Tbs. lemon juice

2 Tbs. sugar

1 Tbs. Dijon mustard

2 tsp. Morton’s Nature seasoning

1 1/2 tsp. salt

1/4 cup balsamic vinegar

3/4 cup extra virgin olive oil

Mix the ingredients in one of two ways;

Either whisk the first 6 ingredients in a medium size bowl. Add the balsamic; whisk to blend. Continue whisking while you add the olive oil.
OR
Place all of the ingredients in a blender and mix until just blended. (That’s how I did it.)

Once you realize how easy it is to make your own tasty salad dressing, you’ll never (or hardly ever) by the store bought stuff again!
